now where i come from its very grim its in the name
as soon as i drive in my sunshine turns to rain
all you see is empty swings and rusty climbing frames
used to be renouned for its fishing now theres nothing to claim
but there was one thing that kept me going in this inbred town
it was yeterpang which gave me a smile for every single frown
she liked daphadills she said they were pretty and yellow
'unite the gy scene' and 'peace to all' was what she used to bellow
children danced and the adult greebos bitched about each other
every female was my sister every male was my brother
they say the kids have all grown and its time to move on ,
but im sure dj ants is still playing tunes and the stoners are still hitting the bong
minds once filled with amitions prosperity and dream
have been dullen by the grinds and cuts from routine
i guess we must all say goodbye to the gy scene
and realise gimsby is uncultured, savage and unclean,
but when you look back - if any of you ever leave,
think of the good times like the cartergate gardens, nats breasts and stanley steve
people who were into hardcore were too few to be called a crew
and when it came ska punk not many ppl had a clue
i guess its all part of growing up altho some sceneters looked about 35
i never realised the scene could occupy ppls lives
as i try to come to an end with my last ever reply
a single tear droplet rolls down my cheak from my eye
i guess gy does make me cry when i have to say goodbye
i guess i can never denie this place is were some good memeries lie
and as my spelling decrease in accuracy as i go along
i say good bye to gy and may your spirit live long.

I'm just on a massive Emo quest (god, remember when people didn't even use that word?!) and I'm looking at all the posts. I never saw this first time round. It's ace, I'm not really keen on the meter, but the sentiment rings true.
I agree wholeheartedly.
